Maintenance

FADEDAION pieces are composed of a combination of materials, including metal, wood, minerals, leather, ceramic components, resin, and glass.
As each piece is not industrially mass-produced, and due to the inherent nature of each material, natural changes may occur over time and through wear.
We preserve the natural characteristics of each material as well as traces of handcrafting, which are considered part of the work.
The following are considered part of the design language rather than defects: variations in texture and tone, oxidation marks, patina effects, firing differences, hand-finishing traces, and slight asymmetry.
We do not pursue perfect uniformity, as objects shaped by time and handcraft are never identical.

General Care Recommendation
  • Avoid prolonged contact with moisture.
  • Avoid scratching or impact with hard objects.
  • Avoid contact with perfume, alcohol, cosmetics, and cleaning agents.
  • It is recommended to remove pieces during sports, sleep, swimming, or bathing.
  • Some materials may cause sensitivity for certain skin types. Individuals with known sensitivities to metals or natural materials are advised to wear with caution.
  • Store in the original pouch and keep in a dry, ventilated environment.
  • Avoid storing with other metal jewelry.
  • Keep out of reach of children to prevent accidental ingestion.
Metal Components
  • Materials include brass, titanium steel, and alloys.
  • Different metals may develop variations in tone due to humidity, skin contact, temperature changes, and wearing habits.
  • Brass is more prone to oxidation and gradually develops a natural patina.
  • Alloy pieces may show slight color variations or patina differences.
  • Titanium steel is highly stable, though long-term use may still result in subtle wear marks.

Metal Care:

  • To restore shine, use a soft cloth or brass polishing cloth.
  • To preserve patina, simply keep dry.
Wood & Natural Minerals
  • Including ebony wood, dzi beads, tiger’s eye, and other natural minerals.
  • Natural materials vary naturally in grain, color, and internal structure.
  • Variations in grain, mineral inclusions, and tonal differences may occur.
  • These are inherent characteristics of natural materials.

Wood & Natural Mineral Care:

  • Avoid sunlight, heat, and humidity.
  • Store in a cool, dry place when not in use.
Leather Components
  • All leather retains its natural grain.
  • Over time, leather develops a unique patina, including darkening, softening, and surface wear.
  • This is part of the natural aging process.

Leather Care:

  • Avoid water and prolonged sunlight exposure.
  • Use leather care products periodically.
Ceramic Components
  • Ceramic components are high-temperature fired, resulting in unique variations in each piece.
  • Color, form, and glaze effects cannot be exactly replicated.
  • Surface granulation, firing marks, and crackle textures are natural outcomes of the process.
  • Each piece is unique.

Ceramic Care:

  • Avoid impact and pressure; store separately.
General Guidelines (for mixed-material pieces)
  • Jewelry should be worn as the final step in getting ready (after makeup/skincare) and removed first when undressing.
  • Do not wear during intense activity or while sweating, as this may damage multiple materials.
  • Store each piece separately (e.g., in a fabric pouch or box) to avoid scratches and material interaction.
Resin & Acrylic Components
  • Resin components are hand-poured.
  • Minor air bubbles, flow lines, and slight color variations may occur.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to heat or direct sunlight.

Resin & Acrylic Care:

  • Avoid heat, direct sunlight, and contact with solvents.
  • Avoid contact with sharp objects.
Glass Components
  • Glass components may show hand-formed texture, flow lines, and slight thickness variation.
  • These are natural outcomes of the glassmaking process.
  • Avoid impact or dropping.

Glass Care:

  • Avoid dropping, impact, or pressure.
  • Remove during intense activity or heavy handling.

Brand Statement

Each piece is completed through time, material, and handcraft.
Subtle variations, natural oxidation, and texture differences are part of the work.
They record both the existence of materials and the traces left by wearer and time.
